Cats can be picky about who they consider a friend. And as their owners, we want nothing more than to cuddle them and play with them. How do you go about doing that with a standoffish feline? Here’s how to bond with your cat!

Give them time and space

when a cat come in our house, we so desperately want to give them attention love and affection. however, we must wait for cat to make the first move. we must give them the time and space to adjust and when they familiar with your presence they will come to you. To reciprocate love with our cats we need to create a warmer security and trust. Give them treats, play with them but let them come to you rather than the other way around. They will smell you and then rub against you, only then do you have the permission to interact.

Improve their environment

Do you guys know that one of the main reason of behavior changes in cat is because they get anxieties. however, cats that live inside can be as happy as cats that live outside, we just have to take care of their environment. They get the constant instincts of scratching, catching, hunting and climbing. when this happens the cat can change its behavior or even get aggressive. Therefore if you want your cat to be happy you must stimulate these instincts by giving them toys like you can play with them with a fishing rod, this will satisfy their catching instinct. You also have to play social interaction games with them twice a week which will help you bond with them more.

Ensure their well being

Don't have a cat if you cant do justice to it by taking care of its basic needs. If a cats basic needs are not taken care of, they may get behavioral problems. you must feed your cats with proper nutrient food. Also, make sure water is available 24*7. My cat used to drink water outside because i didn't took care of it. learn from my mistakes and have water available for them separately. As for their hygiene, take care of their fur, brush it daily. Trip their nails when they long and brush their teeth. remember that the cats do not need to bath except those who do not have the hair.

Monitor their health

Altho they live indoor, cats are exposed to infectious diseases that can cause change in their behavior. It is important they are vaccinated. In addition we must remain attentive to any symptoms of illness. Go to the vet for routine checkups. If you see your cat has everything they need but do not show affection, they might have a heath problem. To rule it out I recommend that you consult a veterinarian, only a professional can diagnose a problem.
